James Bland

Mr. Bland spent twenty-five years serving on the bench as a district judge and is now practicing as an attorney for the Oklahoma Legal Team. Mr. Bland was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Oklahoma, U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Tenth Circuit. He will be joining his son, Eli Bland, to represent Southeastern Oklahomans regarding social security, personal injury, and workers’ compensation disputes. 

When Mr. Bland isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University and then from the University of Arkansas with his Juris Doctor. After graduation, he spent time working at a private practice in McAlester, OK. He is a significant asset to the Oklahoma Legal Team.

Chris Kannady

Chris Kannady is Senior Counsel for the Federal Group in Washington D.C. and is associated with the Oklahoma Legal Team and Foshee & Yaffe Attorneys at Law. Mr. Kannady devotedly served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps as both a defense attorney and military prosecutor. Kannady also served as the office in charge of one of the few Marine Corps extended legal assistance programs where he tackled a variety of civil matters in state court proceedings. Mr. Kannady litigated specialized cases involving homicide, rape, and drug-related offenses as a defense criminal lawyer for a few years. Kannady’s retention rate for active-duty clients was 97 percent. 

Mr. Kannady graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Letters from the University of Oklahoma. He continued at the University of Oklahoma by completing his Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor. Along with his achievements at the University of Oklahoma, Kannady also gained a Master of Laws in National Security and Foreign Relations Law from George Washington University in Washington D.C. Finally, Mr. Kannady was elected to the Oklahoma State House of Representatives for District 91 in south Oklahoma City. Along with practicing law, Mr. Kannady also serves as the Staff Judge Advocate for the Oklahoma Air Guard Joint Force Headquarters.

Alex Yaffe

Alex Yaffe has been present at the Foshee & Yaffe law firm since he was five years old. Mr. Yaffe has juggled all the different parts of a law firm from being a runner, intern, and attorney. He is an Oklahoma native and is eager to continue the tradition of protecting the rights of people who have been wronged. He was named a Super Lawyer and Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2011 to 2013. He still continues to be named a Super Lawyer today. 


Mr. Yaffe served as Student Body President at the University of Oklahoma and then continued on to attend the Oklahoma City University School of Law. Mr. Yaffe has been accepted to all the courts in the state of Oklahoma as well as the Federal Courts of the Western District of Oklahoma, Eastern District of Oklahoma, and Colorado. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority Board, President of the Patrons of the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare, Co-Founder of Heartland Lab Rescue Inc, and volunteers for many other civic and political organizations. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and many dogs.

Eliot Yaffe

Eliot Yaffe has worked with the Foshee & Yaffe Attorneys at Law since 2001 and is also associated with the Oklahoma Legal Team. He mainly practices employment, personal injury, workers’ compensation, civil rights, and education law. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma County Bar Association, and Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association. 

Mr. Yaffe earned his bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Central Oklahoma. After he obtained his degree, Mr. Yaffe worked as a professional educator in Oklahoma City Public Schools for two years. Following this, he began law school at the University of Tulsa. In his spare time, he volunteers at the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, and tutors in Oklahoma City Public Schools. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son.

Blake Yaffe

M. Blake Yaffe is a founding partner in the law firm. The primary areas of his practice are personal injury, including auto negligence, medical negligence, and nursing home negligence.

Mr. Yaffe graduated from Ardmore High School and received bachelor degrees in business and economics from the University of Oklahoma. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1977. He is a member of the Oklahoma and Oklahoma County Bar Associations, the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, and formerly the Oklahoma Human Rights Commission. He has served on the County Bar Grievance Committee. His courts of admission are the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma. Through legal aid and representation, Mr. Yaffe has recovered millions of dollars for the injured people he has represented.

Mr. Yaffe’s wife, Nancy, is a teacher for Moore Public Schools. They have three children: Eliot and Alex, who practice law with Foshee & Yaffe, and Stacy, who is a second-grade teacher in Dallas. Mr. Yaffe recently became a grandfather to his first granddaughter, Sydney Grace.

Eli Bland

Eli was born and raised in McAlester, Oklahoma. He graduated from McAlester High School in 2009. Eli then went to Northeastern State University for undergraduate education and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. 

Eli attended Law School at the University of Arkansas and graduated in 2016. Since graduation, Eli has been practicing in Pittsburg County. 

Eli practices in the areas of criminal law and family law, as well as handling personal injury, social security, and worker’s compensation cases.
